Friends, I really regret having to report this incredibly sad news to you. But, being an honest person, it's very difficult for me to sugar-coat the truth. (Now, sugar-coating a bowl of Wheaties... that I can do, no problem. But the truth is pretty salty, like potato chips, and sugar-coating makes it kinda... icky.)

Anyway, this tragic bit of information comes from the wonderful world of fast food:

Burger King is no longer selling cheesy tots!!!

(I will pause a moment, so that readers may grab tissues.)

Yes, I went to Burger King recently (the one day that I worked last week, due to previously-reported car problems), and, as if things hadn't been bad enough for me, the psuedo-friendly voice emitting from the speaker at the drive-thru chirped that they had sold out of cheesy tots, and didn't know when they would be getting more, as this was a corporate decision.

Horror of horrors!

Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy BK's Croissan'wiches (as long as they don't kill me), but the cheesy tots TOTALLY ROCK. I don't care for their normal breakfast tater tots, but the cheesy tots have been infused with cheese on the inside (hence, the name). As a matter of fact, I don't really like BK's french fries, either. So, why in the hell did they do away with the only potato product they got right? BURGER KING UPPER MANAGEMENT, DO YOU REALLY FREAKING HATE ME THAT MUCH???

I'm sorry, I'm just so torn up right now... I'm verklempt, talk amongst yourselves.

20 insane rambling:

Umm...when did Burger King make Cheesy Tots? It's been a long time since I've gotten fast food breakfasts but that sure does sound good...

I don't know when they started serving them, I just discovered them a few weeks ago... and then POOF! they were gone. They were wonderful... I may have to join a support group... (sniff)...

Oh, dear! There's nothing else to to replace those cheesy tots?

By the way, typing cheesy tots threw me into a fit of giggles. Just saying. ;)

You know, I don't even remember seeing an advertisement for the cheesy tots. I just saw a sign hanging in the restaurant one day (after I'd placed my order!) When I went back for them, I was told they were no longer carrying them. But the next time (I really don't eat at Burger King a lot ~ I only like their double sausage Croissan'wiches and their Whoppers!) I was surprised to see they were back so I happily ordered some. I really wasn't all that impressed with them. (Sorry Jim!) :( I think my favorite cheese-filled side is Arby's stuffed jalapenos. Yum!

Mindi, maybe they just didn't fix 'em well down in Florida! (Too hot & humid, maybe?)

You wanna give your money to the King, fine, but all you're doing is turning your back on the fine traditions of democracy we've enjoyed in this wonderful country of ours, you ungrateful monarchist!

Uh-oh.

Sounds like fightin' words.

We must find some way to get them back. I just spent a half hour on hold with BK corporate to try to get some answers, but NOTHING!!!! As of the beginning of October, there was a BK in New Paltz, NY that still sold them, but that is 4 1/2 hours from me so it's not very convienent. AHHHHHH!

It is I, the somewhat disturbing King Burger of Burger King restaurants (http://www.buycostumes.com/Category/0/Product/27401/ProductDetail.aspx). Between my usual routine events, like sneaking into the bedrooms of innocent people and watching them sleep, I have heard your cries...and hereby decree the return of the cheesy tots.

Yesterday, Burger King in Pittsburgh told me that the Cheesy Tots were a promotional item and they would no longer have them. I had assumed other locations would still serve them. This is a sad, sad day for me. Why would they discontinue the only item on their menu that was good? No wonder so many of their locations go out of business while McDonalds continues to grow. BK needs better commercials without that creepy King costume and they need to keep Cheesy Tots on the menu if they wish to succeed.

I got the surprise of my life too this month when I went to get my 9 piece cheesy tot from BK. This is all I got with my coffee. I was in such disbelief that I called to speak with a manager who confirmed the unthinkable! I went to another BK for about a week until they ran out and also confirmed the same. This was one of the best snacks on the menu. If the product was sold in the grocery store, I would buy it! It wasn't just a breakfast item. I would get my cheesy tots any time of the day. I stopped getting Whopper's s long time ago, especially when they started slopping on the mayo and changed the fresh pieces of lettuces to shredded, wilted pieces of lettuce. There are no words to describe how I feel right now. I guess I will "have it my way" at another fast food restaurant because BK has lost yetr another customer.

I don't want this planet anymore without cheesy tots.

Goodbye, world.

It sucks that they have dropped cheesy tots, I was buying them all day. Truth is though, burger king stole the idea from Pal's, a local burger chain in the tri-cities tennessee area. So just find a Pal's and order the cheddar rounds, and you'll be all good.
